has also been described in America as 'ecletic, original, inventive,
very musical and highly evocative'.

that goes into your music. Thank you, and I'm looking forward
to exposing my listeners to it.'
'A bright
spot in the folk music arena that brings the magic of Scotland
to your ears. It's well produced and Debbie's voice will touch

Multi-instrumentalist, Gerry Geoghegan is the band's guitarist
and has an amazing CV, which spans Rock, Folk and most contemporary
forms of music to be found in Scotland today. His playing is magical,
full of feeling as well as being powerful and steeped in his ever-changing
eclectic taste.
Elaine
McCombe's bass playing, which is driving and full of subtlety,
complements this. Elaine originally played with the Glasgow-based,
all-girl Folk group Tullibardine. She also plays guitar when
RISE performs live, as well as providing lovely vocal harmonies.
Kris
Manvell has been in the engine room of many Punk and Rock
bands on the London circuit. Kris plays drums and percussion
on the album as well as keyboard noodling.
The band's
sound is given cohesion and meaning by the stunning vocals of
Debbie Dawson.
Debbie brings genuine feeling to the songs and her performance
is passionate and beautiful. The band is the perfect vehicle
for her voice.

The Vegan Society
The Vegan Society, the world's first, was born in November
1944 - after a lengthy gestation. As early as 1909 the ethics
of consuming dairy products were hotly debated within the
vegetarian movement.
In August 1944, Elsie Shrigley and Donald Watson (a conscientious
objector later to be acclaimed as the Vegan Society's Founder)
agreed the desirability of coordinating 'non-dairy vegetarians';
despite opposition from prominent vegetarians unwilling to
even consider adopting a diet free of all animal products.

The Vegetarian Society
The Vegetarian Society is the oldest vegetarian organisation
in the world and is the leading voice and authority on vegetarianism.
We exist to represent our members and the UK's four million
vegetarians by raising awareness of vegetarianism and surrounding
issues through campaigning educating, providing information,
research and working with the food industry.

VIVA!
Viva! campaigns for a veggie planet. By changing your diet,
you start to change the world. By going veggie, you strengthen
our collapsing environment and strike a blow for fairness in
the developing world. You improve your health and life expectancy
. And you no longer play a part in the abuse of billions of
animals. Through campaigning and education, Viva! has enlightened
millions, changed the diets of many. Support Viva! and increase
our influence |

The Orissor Trust
The Orissor Trust is a not-for-profit educational organisation.
Its purpose is to promote health of mind and body, which it
does in two ways.
The first is to encourage respect for our fellow animal creatures
on Earth - for their benefit, and for ours. We believe that
eating the flesh and produce of animal, bird and insect is the
real cause of Cancer and all the other major diseases of the
modern world. All disease is preventable and unnecessary.
The second is to break the stranglehold of indoctrination, by
encouraging the use of the individual's own thoughts and inspiration,
instead of mentally walking in dead men's shoes. This is the
only way to arrive at health and peace of mind.
We believe that no-one has the right to force upon another their
own beliefs or lifestyle - especially the old upon the young.
We believe that a new Age of Enlightenment is just beginning |
